Godington Farm is a well recognised training establishment.  For many years we have produced exceptional results for students working towards NVQ and BHS qualifications.  The stud offers the broadest possible range of experience covering the three main competition disciplines, backing and schooling youngsters as well as the whole of the breeding cycle including handling stallions and broodmares/youngsters.

Formal riding tuition is given at least once a week, but there are many more opportunities to ride, either whilst helping with the backing and schooling of young horses, or by exercising the competition animals.  Pupils taking BHS stage exams will undertake a course of study with Victoria von Wachter (BHSII) involving written work, tutorials and practical assessments.  NVQ students will follow the guidelines laid down by the training provided,  with Stud Manager Ruth Burnard (BHSAI) as the in-house assessor. Past working pupils have gone to run their own yards both in the UK and overseas.

We have only limited vacancies as we have accommodation for one working pupil only, the others having to live out.  We tend to recruit in the Spring or Summer of each year and many of our working pupils find it difficult to leave after their one or two year stay.

If you are interested in a career with horses and want to progress this through the  working pupil route please write to us at the address on the contact information page.
